GIANPIERO TONDINA - C.C.C.

Gianpiero is our Executive Chef with over 30 years of experience in the preparation of regional Italian and Continental cuisine. He has extensive experience at premiere hotels in Italy and Switzerland. He also has two years teaching experience at George Brown College and six years at The Columbus Centre.

In 1991, Gianpiero received designation as a Sommelier from The Guild of Canada through George Brown College.

Gianpiero has been awarded "Maestro di Cucina" in 1999, a professional designation as Master Chef, "Federazione Italiana Cuochi (FIC) - Collegium" in 1998, in recognition of a distinguished career and for founding the first chapter of FIC in Canada and "Certificate of Merit for Haute Cuisine" in 1984, a Gold Medal awarded by the French Hotel & Restaurant Association for the Venetian Gastronomic Festival. Most recently Gianpiero was named Chef of the Year for 2002 and was presented with the prestigious Escoffier Award.

Gianpiero is President & Founder of The Association of Italian Chefs of Canada (FIC). He also is a member of the Italian Culinary Program, George Brown College Advisory Board since 1992, Canadian Federation of Chefs & Cooks (Escoffier Society) member since 1989 and Toques Blanches member since 1996.
